As South Africa has moved into Level 4 lockdown again there have been a lot of questions raised as to whether or not the Round 1 of the Enduro Western Cape would be taking place on the 25th of July as scheduled. As the event organisers, we have been working to ensure that the event could take place in July. Unfortunately at this point the wise decision is to postpone the event to November this year.
“We empathise with the Events industry which has been severely impacted by the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns; however we believe limiting gatherings such as events is the best course of action to curb a further spread of the Covid-19 virus. We urge all event organisers to adhere to the adjusted alert level 4 regulations in order to ensure the safety of all.”

We plan to host an “Intro to Enduro” event in August for those new to the sport who would like some more insights into how it works as well as some technical training for a better Enduro racing experience. Keep an ear out for more info on that but expect a day of good times at a local trail network with local Enduro legends and top racers.

The 2021 Enduro Western Cape series, as it stands, will start with a bang in Jonkershoek for Round 1. That event will be the Western Cape Enduro Champs as well as the SA Enduro Cup #3 and an Enduro World Series qualifier. This is an event that you will appreciate any preparation for as the climbs are big and the descents testing! Spend some time out in Jonkershoek before the event to get used to the trails there and the scale of the mountains. It is a special place indeed!
Round 2 will take place on October 31st and Round 3 in November with the exact date to be confirmed. We look forward to seeing you on the trails!
