The Hoogekraal location typically offers an easy point of entry for riders into the Enduro Western Cape series from a relative difficulty perspective but the unexpected rainy weather may have had other things in mind!
Traction was ever variable throughout the 5 stages of the Full Enduro, as well as the 3 of the Lite. Some corners seems to offer immense grip only to be followed by and ice rink on the next turn! Reading the ground well and knowing where to commit would be crucial for those hunting a podium spot.
There were few riders who made it down without an encounter with the ground yet the gees to be out racing enduro remained high!

When it came down to the final times, there was an undercover pinner who snuck their way into the overall win! Darryn Stow who has been out of racing due to health issues for 2 years now made a great return and showed there is still some form to be enjoyed! Frankie Du Toit also finally took another EWC win, the last of those being before Jonkershoek 2019! The queen of enduro is back on top, unsurprisingly after a showing at World Downhill Champs and a huge win at SA Enduro Champs a few weeks back!
