Alan Hatherly, born on March 15, 1996, in Durban, South Africa, is a distinguished professional mountain bike and road cyclist. He has competed internationally, including at the 2016, 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. Hatherly’s accolades include a bronze medal in cross-country at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Under-23 Cross Country World Championship title in the same year.

He currently rides for Cannondale Factory Racing in mountain biking and EF Education–Nippo Development Team in road cycling.

This is Hatherly’s second appearance on the SOMETHING FRESH podcast, and this time we’re winding back the clock and starting his story from the beginning.
