Round 4 of the Nissan Trailseeker Series saw victories from Pieter Du Toit (PYGA Euro Steel) and Theresa Ralph (Galileo Risk Infiniti). The racing has been close and lots of riders being competitive for the top step, Saturday’s 71km race will be anyone’s for the taking! It isn’t a particularly mountainous area but is looks like the latter half of the route is going to bring the pain as they steadily climb towards the finish!

The final 2 rounds of the UCI Downhill World Cup will be taking place in a new location, Lousa, Portugal. The track looks to be very fast and flat out of the gate but proceeds to drop down some gnarly steeps with plenty of off camber before spitting racers out into some classic big jumps! Check out some footage from practice below.

Greg Minnaar and Tracy Hannah were fastest in timed training and come Thursday’s qualifying, these were the standings!

Elite Women1st. Myriam Nicole: 4:30.658 // 2nd. Tracey Hannah: +4.859 // 3rd. Tahnee Seagrave: +4.9844th. Marine Cabirou: +7.074 // 5th. Nina Hoffmann: +12.503

Elite Men1st. Loris Vergier: 3:59.487 // 2nd. Matt Walker: +0.108 // 3rd. Luca Shaw: +1.6034th. Greg Minnaar: +2.628 // 5th. Loic Bruni: +3.170

Minnaar is certainly looking on pace with his best qualification this year. He’s familiar with the location from to many testing camps in Lousa over the years and that is really showing! This afternoon’s racing is going to be ripping! The woman’s race goes off at 14:30 and then men’s at 15:45, those times will be the same for Round 1 on Friday and Round 2 on Sunday.

Update: Minnaar shot the lights out at Friday’s race with a superb run and a win! Incredible stuff from the greatest of all time!

Saturday will see another round of qualifications and then finals on Sunday afternoon at 14:30 and 15:45.
