The Woolworths X TRI Powered by Imperial is headed for one of South Africa’s most loved getaway destinations, the Karkloof in the Kwa-Zulu Natal midlands! What’s more? The Early Bird entry prices available for the next 10 days make this fun-filled event even easier to say yes to!
So what is the WW X TRI all about and what is so special about the Karkloof?
What the WW X TRI is all about
The WW X TRI series launched nationally in 2022 after 10 successful years running in the Western Cape. Last year Buffelspoort (Gauteng) and Karkloof (KZN) hosted the first 2 national rounds of this off-road triathlon event series and were big hits for everyone involved!

The WW X TRI is a fundraising event series for the Woolworths Trust that supports national projects and programmes that improve food security and uplift education. Making a difference is core to the event’s existence.
In order to be accessible to people of all ability levels, there are a range of course options to choose from at any WW X TRI event. At each of the 3 events throughout the year you’ll find; a Full and Lite X TRI, Full and Lite RUN4FUN, and a WALK4GOOD. You can see those distance breakdowns below!

What is so cool about the Karkloof?
This region really is one of the most stunning spots in the country to visit! Lush green rolling hills rich with fresh air and big blue skies make for the perfect relaxation recipe and you’re comfortably within driving distance from both Durban and Johannesburg.

The area boasts a wealth of lovely accommodation options in the quaint town of Howick as well as out in the countryside at spots like the exquisite Rockwood Lodges.
While you’re in the area for the weekend it is worth visiting the Karkloof and Howick Waterfalls (both over 100m tall) or taking a zipline ride on the Karkloof Canopy Tours!
Bluebird Coffee Roastery and Terbodore are a must for coffee lovers as well! This is such a great little corner of the country to wander around with loads of exciting and tasty gems to stumble upon.

We can’t wait to be back in the Karkloof in March and we can guarantee you won’t regret getting stuck in at this WW X TRI. We’ll leave a timeline below for the important dates to keep in mind, and see you there in March!
