This special event turns six this year, and we can’t wait to spend our Heritage Day weekend (23-25 September) shredding the hallowed, hand-crafted trail network of The U in Piket-Bo-Berg.
2024 Update: This event no longer exists and so some of the links had to be removed.
You should be there too. Entries are limited and selling out fast – get yours here
UNIQUE RIDING
With over 100 kilometres of trails on the Mouton’s Valley, Bugler’s Post and Pomona farms, the area offers some of the finest singletrack trail riding in the country. The trails are private, inaccessible to riders except for during this three-day boutique stage race.
The trails are a shredder’s paradise, flowing over, through, between, and under rocks to create a mountain-biker’s paradise. Make no mistake about it though, you’re going to have to bring your legs, lungs and skills too – it’s tough and technical and not a simple cruise.
UNFORGETTABLE VIBE
While the exclusive access to these beautiful trails is more than enough reason to book your spot right now, the vibe – which comprises a lifestyle offering like no other – is another big draw card!
The race is all-inclusive, which is something unique in South Africa. This means, regardless of what accommodation option you choose, you can leave your wallet at home and still receive a full-service, premium-quality offering.
ULTIMATE REASON WHY
We love a good day on the trails followed by an ice-cold beer as much as the next rider, but knowing that it’s all for a good cause makes it all that much sweeter. All proceeds from The U go straight back into the Mouton’s Valley Star Centre, which provides the children of the community with educational support (after-school homework class, holiday programmes and sports programme).
Entries are highly limited and bound to sell out fast. There are various entry and accommodation options available. To enter, click here, for more info on the routes and accommodation options, click here.
