Who we are: Women’s cycling advocacy project created to connect, inspire and empower women through cycling. Based in Cape Town, SA.

Club / Group Name: Trail Angels

Who we are: Trail Angels began with just 6 ladies, who met once a week in 2012 and has grown into South Africa’s largest women-only MTB club, based in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs. We offer 5 riding groups based on fitness and skill levels – from those who are new to the sport and need a helping hand to get started, to those who need some encouragement and inspiration to ladies who want to compete in events. Everyone finds their group.

Club / Group Name: Dirt Addict

Who we are: We are an active lifestyle community, built for women, by women. We focus on creating a safe, inspiring space where women can connect through cycling and running.
Road or MTB: MTB
When and where group rides happen: We are based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. Most rides currently happen in and around the area on the road and trails over weekends. But we do also venture to other areas.
Contact person and details for joining the group: Rides are arranged on our Whatsapp group and can be suggested by any of our members. It has created flexibility and new friendships. We are exploring a weekly trail ride which is either on a Wednesday or Thursday (after work).

Who we are: Ladies road cycling and mtb small group rides coached by Kate Slegrova, who is certified cycling and mtb coach.

Club / Group Name: Vukani / Ciovita Cycling Club

Who we are: We accommodate ladies of all fitness levels on Wednesdays and Sundays through Ciovita and Vukani Cycling Club.

When and where group rides happen: Wednesday at 5am sharp. Motherland Coffee at the Hobart shopping centre, Bryanston. Sundays you’ll need to contact Mamello or Sipho as the locations change across Joburg

Who we are: CLAW is a fun-focused, Social MTB group for women by women, based in Gauteng. Our core aim is to create non-intimidating riding opportunities for women, where they can build their MTB confidence, in a safe and fun environment. #realwomenrealfun.

Ladies Cycling Clubs In Gauteng Johannesburg And Pretoria
Cycle Lab Active Women explore the trails of Gauteng!

Club / Group Name: Girls Support Girls Cycling Club

Who we are: Girls Support Girls was founded by Jillian Jacobs.  It’s a group of like minded, positive women who believe in living well, making a contribution and rather like riding the odd bicycle or two.
Road or MTB: Road and MTB
When and where group rides happen: Morning rides are from Seattle Grosvenor crossing Tuesday to Friday – 4h50am depart.
Saturday: Ride into the Cradle of Mankind. 70-100km rides.
Summer times 6am / Winter times 7am
Sundays usually a easy ride up the ‘Spruit’. 45km starting at 6h30/7am
Zwift rides in winter.

The Practice in Joburg offer great skills coaching for female riders.

Who we are: Our passion is to help woman from beginners to elite professionals fall in love with their biking. We have several Internationally certified female skills instructors helping assist riders across a wide range of private and group clinics across most of our provinces.

When and where group rides happen:
Wednesday mornings: Saint Stithian’s College MTB Track – 06:30 to 07:45 focus is mainly on Intermediate to Advanced level riders but beginner and novices are welcome.
Friday mornings: Cycle Lab Bike Park – 06:30 to 07:30 – Beginner to Intermediate level riders and perfect for new beginners & novice riders.
First Saturday of each month: Ladies road skills clinic – Taroko trails parking area – 07:30 to 09:00

Club / Group Name: Giba Gals

Who we are: The Giba Gals is a social ladies riding group that cater for all fitness and skills levels. Groups are guided by BICP certified coaches who are there to help you improve your riding.

When and where group rides happen: Monday morning,  Wednesday morning and Friday morning
Monday – 8.30am – Ladies – All Levels
Wednesday – 8.30am, 3pm, 6pm night ride – Everyone of all levels welcome

Who we are: This is a non-threatening, friendly, fun environment that caters for all level of rider.
