The highly anticipated SA XCO Cup #2 of the 2022 season is fast approaching, and we couldn’t resist the chance to get an early look at the course. To do this, we enlisted the help of none other than Jason Boulle, also known as J-Dogg, and the ever-energetic Max Sullivan, or Sulli as he’s known in the cycling community. These two seasoned riders took to the course for some intense scoping and a few fun crashes along the way!

Rumor has it that J-Dogg himself will be lining up at the start this weekend, which promises to add an extra layer of excitement to the event. The course itself is a challenging 4.3km lap, featuring an elevation gain of 120m and a plethora of technical features designed to test the skills of every rider. From rocky descents to tricky switchbacks, this course is set to be a thrilling ride for competitors and spectators alike.

For those who might not be familiar with the term, XCO, it stands for Cross Country Olympics. It is a mountain bike race format organised by the UCI. It takes place on mixed terrain circuits, typically featuring natural trails and some man-made obstacles. Riders compete in a mass start, racing for around 1 hour and 20 to 40 minutes in elite categories. The under-23 and junior categories have shorter race durations due to age considerations.
